Well, I finally figured out how to get those cute backgrounds that I see on everyone elses blog pages (thank you Kimberly).
Life is getting filled up as we are continueing to get the kids involved in extra-curricular activities after 5 1/2 months of living in Omaha. We are now busy with Hapkido, Tae kwon do, gymnastics, scouts and guitar lessons. Along with me volunteering at school and planning/holding scout meetings and girls camp and Dave being the Exective Secretary at church we are busy, busy, busy. Family Home evening on Mondays, Family Movie night on Fridays and DATE NIGHT on Saturdays keep us close and sane.
I finally found a Doctor for the kids, a family Droctor for Dave and I, a Dentist for the kids, a Dentist for Dave and I, a Doctor for me and a groomer for Bella (can't forget her:-)).
We have a date set for the Triplets baptism. For those who would like to come it is set for April 25th. They are very excited! See some of you there:-)

It's how cold?

Yes, this does say negative 12. It was actually -13 but by the time I got the camera to focus on the number and not the reflection in the mirror it had gone up 1 degree. Thank goodness there is no wind today. It would probably be -35 to -40 if we had a wind chill to take into account.
The car thermastat is a game to the kids. When it is -2 they start chanting "-3, -3, -3" and then it hits -3 and they start chanting "-4, -4, -4". At least someone is celebrating the weather.
Needless to say, the kids will not be having recess out doors today and I will not be taking Bella on her morning walk.

Well, all 5 kids had lice but not Dave or me. We are continueing to check and comb hair with the nit comb. We have done nearly 50 loads of laundry and I am now waiting for the the repair man to show up and fix the washer that broke last night.
Bella is doing tons better. Dave is still against keeping her but I think I might be able to do this if it continues to go as well as it has since last I wrote.
We are all thinking about signing up for a martial arts class since after the 3rd person you sign up the rest are free (if you pay for the unlimited classes). I am excited about that. The triplets want to do gymnastics still though and Ryan is either going to do Hip Hop or guitar. We'll see.
Kids will be back in school tomorrow (after the nurse checks them out) and think I will go get a pedicure. I think I deserve it after this weekdend:-).

Infestation!

Well, we have had a very fun day. We get a call from school at around 1:30 saying that Jenna came in complaining of an itchy head and, you guesses it, she has lice. So, Dave came home and we have been frantically trying to get everything clean. The good news is (yes, there is good news in this) that the school nurse had Ryan, Chase and Meagan come to the office to check them too and none of them have it. They all had to come home though and have to get inspected by the school nurse to go back.

We got the special shampoo and shampooed Jenna's head and then I spent an hour and 15 min. combing through with the special comb. Then, to take extra caution, we all (yes, Dave and I too) put mayonaise in our hair and are spending the night with mayo and a shower cap. This is a nontoxic way of killing lice. We could have done it with Jenna but we both felt like we wanted the best stuff for her.

Dave has been in charge of laundry, I have been vacuuming carpet and furniture and we have been spraying the furniture too. All the clothes (even clean) have to be washed in HOT water and stuffed animals have to be wrapped up in a bag for at least 3 days (the kids are not happy they have to sleep without their animals).

I feel for anyone who has to go through this. I feel for you. Mom, because I remember you going through this:-). As long as we get rid of it and it doesn't come back I will survive. I think I might kill over, however, if I have to do this again. Pray for us:-).

I am going crazy! I feel so awful to say this but I don't know if Bella is going to work out. I feel like my life revolves around her and I am not able to do with the kids what they need because I am always worried about her being in the kennel too much or peeing and pooping in the house when she's not. She is whining and barking at night which is making me tired and cranky the next day. I feel like if we gave up now though we would be giving up too soon but I also don't want the kids to get to attatched to her and I feel the longer she is here the more they will and if it doesn't get better by the end of January then she's off to another family. UGH! I am so torn as to what to do. Hopefully she will be good today and tomorrow. Any improvement would help.

Busy, busy, busy...

Tyler went to the High School last night and played his trombone with the high school band. He played about 4 different songs they have been practicing. He did really well and had alot of fun. Meagan and Jenna tried a ballet/tap class last night and will be trying a Jazz class and gymnastics later this week to decide what they want to do. Ryan took a Hip Hop class and I have to admitt, I was REALLY impressed. He has never taken dance before and he was better than most others and as good as the best in there. He wants to try Martial arts with his Dad, Ty and Chase though and then he will decide between the two. We are also trying to find a guitar teacher for him. Chase will also be trying out gymnastics and Martial Arts and deciding between the two. So, as you can see we are finally trying to officially get settled and started here in Omaha. It's about time after nearly 5 months...wow! Has it really been that long?

Introducing Bella...

Can you believe it?!?! We promised the kids that after we moved to Omaha we would get them a dog and after 4 months of postponing it we got Bells.
Bella is a year old Wheaten Terrier and is very good. Dave and I never really wanted a dog (we feel we have enough kids) but we find ourselves as dog owners now. We just pray for pateince to keep her for the kids sake. She really is a good dog though. It is just going to take some getting use to.

Utes game

We are having fun tonight with the Andersons and the Pattersons watching the Ute game. Lots of food, fine friends and wine...just kidding:-) And yes, the UTES WON!
